Over the past few years, I’ve found myself asking a question that more and more Americans are quietly considering:
“What would it take to retire outside the United States—and where would I even begin to look?

This site is the product of my own research. It’s not a list of recommendations, nor does it presume there’s a “perfect” place to land. Instead, it’s a framework—a way to think through what matters most to each of us when considering a move abroad. Our focus is to address topics applicable to those of us with established lives and resources that we want to protect and enjoy.

We take a holistic view—and speak to the needs of Americans who may have built careers, raised families, and are now seeking something more fulfilling, more manageable, or simply new.

We run a 6 issue newsletter to inform on key topics to consider before moving away from the U.S.  Finances are not the sole factor and we frame options for the reader to find the correct balance of the myriad of factors to consider in selecting a new home.

For us, the journey began several years ago when we traveled to over 20 countries spanning Asia, Europe, Central and South America.

Our foundational articles highlight matters that apply, no matter where one moves to. 

We begin with a high level look at ten countries that frequently surface in conversations about retirement abroad. The purpose is not to suggest they are the best—but to show how different places offer different blends of climate, culture, cost, infrastructure, safety, and legal frameworks.

Each of us will weigh those differently.
